According to Hinduism, the holy lake at Pushkar in Rajasthan sprung from the navel of Lord Vishnu. It came into being when Lord Brahma dropped a lotus flower here. At this place there are fifty-two ghats to perform after life rituals conducted during the holy month of Ashwin.
